Biography

Doug Daniels received his bachelor's in civil engineering in 1960, then worked for the State of ¾«¶«Ó°ÊÓ Highway Division before joining Coral Corporation in 1969. Daniels bought the material supply division of the company in 1971, named it Coral Sales Company, and for 23 years has served as company president. The company expanded its product line under Daniels' direction to include transportation safety products like impact attenuators, breakaway sign supports, and cattle guards. His company has also incorporated technology into its traffic counters, roadside weather stations, and anti-icing systems.

Through the Douglas P. Daniels / Coral Sales Company Scholarship, Daniels provides scholarships to one male and one female student in undergraduate and graduate transportation engineering programs throughout the company's northwest sales territory. This scholarship program originated at OSU in 1987 and has grown to 36 annual scholarships. Daniels is an honorary Lifetime Member in both ASCE and ITE.
